Jay Johnson’s obituary was in The Miami Herald on March 27, 2013. You can read it here.
Below is a photo of Jay hard at work in Miami Tower’s Sky Lounge in November 2012.
Thanks for all you did for us, Jay. You are greatly missed.
Today we received the tragic news that Jay Johnson passed away on January 5.
Jay was our previous Social Media Coordinator, working diligently to take photos at our events, update the website, manage email communications, and send out announcements to the press. He touched many people with his warm and generous spirit.
Rest in Peace, Jay.
We are in the middle of Women’s History Month. So this Tuesday, March 19, please join us for a powerful documentary that highlights some inspiring individuals in Africa and Asia who are fighting for basic human rights for women and girls. See calendar page for full details.
Unfortunately Yvonne Brown is not able to make it tonight. But we still have a great jazz concert planned. The Gary Thomas Ensemble will be playing, and special guest vocalist Lisanne Lyons will also be featured. Come and enjoy some wonderful music!
Please note the following schedule change:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, next week’s double feature, The Goodbye Girl & Claudine, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20—not Tuesday, Feb. 19 as originally scheduled. Future film screenings will still be held on Tuesdays as usual.
