Alice Day concerts in May

NOTICE FROM KEITH CLARKE:

I regret to inform you that due to insufficient funds, the Alice Day Band concert at Miami Tower, originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, has been CANCELED. I extend my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by this cancellation and by the very late notice. I take full responsibility for my irresponsibility. This is the first time that I have had to cancel a concert in the six and a half years since I first introduced a jazz series to Miami Tower, and I intend it to be the last.

In lieu of the concert, I will be showing the documentary film Lady Be Good: Instrumental Women in Jazz from 7:00-9:00 pm. I recognize, of course, that even the best of films cannot compare to a live performance by an artist of Alice Day’s caliber. But I do hope that the film will be of interest to our loyal audience of jazz enthusiasts.

Thank you for bearing with me, and I hope in time you will forgive me for this cancellation and for the short notice.

Sincerely,

Keith Clarke
Managing Director

Jay Johnson

Today we received the tragic news that Jay Johnson passed away on January 5.

Jay was our previous Social Media Coordinator, working diligently to take photos at our events, update the website, manage email communications, and send out announcements to the press. He touched many people with his warm and generous spirit.

Rest in Peace, Jay.
